Fabrizio Romano has said that he has recently heard something that doesn’t make any sense to him regarding Chelsea’s interest in signing Victor Osimhen.
He posted on YouTube to clarify that, in contrast to other speculations, the two clubs are not in talks over a contract that would involve talking about a signing for the end of the current campaign.
When it comes to prospective striker signings for the Blues, Osimhen is unquestionably at the top of the list.
But with his recent signing of a new contract with the Serie A side, it’s becoming more and more clear that the transaction is just not feasible this month.
Rather, rumours started to surface that Chelsea would try to finalise an agreement whereby they agree on a price for the player now but don’t have to pay until the following window.
With the signing of Christopher Nkunku, who reportedly made things official with the Blues just days after the team missed out on him during the summer window, they were able to pull this off.
But according to Romano, there is currently no discussion about this occurring between the Blues and Osimhen.
“I don’t know where these rumours are coming from, but I would say at this point makes no sense,” he stated. “No pre agreement with Napoli or player side for Victor Osimhen has happened this month.”
