After expressing his opinions about his Chelsea players following their 4-1 loss to Newcastle, Pochettino was warned during his “risky statement”

After Chelsea’s 4-1 loss to Newcastle on Saturday, former Liverpool player Dean Saunders advised Mauricio Pochettino to exercise caution.

Eddie Howe’s team defeated the Blues 5–0, and captain Reece James was sent off for what was perhaps their worst performance of the year.

Disappointed in his team for not accepting the challenge, Pochettino blasted them after the game.

Poch remarked, “That is a mistake, I am not talking about mistakes,” in reference to Thiago Silva’s error that gave Newcastle their third goal.

“I am talking more about energy, we were not in the right,” the Argentine continued. We weren’t the best prepared to compete today.

Pochettino also had some criticism to give to Reece James, stating that he was disappointed in his poor decision-making that resulted in him being sent off during the match.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Sunday, Saunders said he was worried about Pochettino’s remarks and that the Chelsea manager might end up losing the dressing room.

Saunders asked, “What are you doing this morning, Pochettino?” He has openly stated that they haven’t put in enough effort. Making such a claim when you’re losing is dangerous.

As the team’s manager, Pochettino is entitled to monitor his players and correct them when they act inappropriately. Saunders is right to be concerned, but given that Chelsea is obviously to blame for the loss, we don’t think the players would even consider rebelling at this point.
