Man of the Match in the Champions League last night goes to the 27-year-old who Chelsea cut loose last summer

Pundit Jamie Carragher was full of praise for the performance of former Chelsea star Commentator Jamie Carragher was gushing about Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s performance in last night’s Champions League match.

He gave CBS Sport nothing but praise for the 27-year-old following his performance in AC Milan’s pivotal European triumph over PSG.

Since leaving Stamford Bridge during the summer to pursue regular playing time, which he has found with the Serie A team, Loftus-Cheek has been outstanding.

The England international has established himself as a fantastic addition thus far this season, joining a lengthy list of former Blues players like Christian Pulisic and Olivier Giroud.

Presently occupying the third spot in the league, focus shifted to the Champions League last night as they encountered a must-win situation against PSG.

They prevailed 2-1, thanks to a fantastic strike from Rafael Leao—a former Blues target—that initially gave them hope.

Loftus-Cheek excels in the   Champions League 

Giroud, who is 37 years old and still proving himself, backed this up with an equally impressive goal.

Carragher was quick to inform Loftus-Cheek of how outstanding his own performance had been following the game.

“Man of the match tonight, Ruben,” he exclaimed. Are you having fun in Milan thus far?

In response, the midfielder said, “I’m really enjoying it.” It has been difficult for me to be injured for the past month, but I truly wanted to return for this game to support the team and attempt to win tonight.

It doesn’t seem like he is being missed all that much at Stamford Bridge thus far, despite his impressive performances.

They are definitely strong in the midfield, where players like Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez hold down the fort.
