‘So intelligent’: Benoit Badiashile says he love training with ‘extraordinary’ £110k-a-week Chelsea player

Thiago Silva’s Chelsea colleague Benoit Badiashile has heaped high admiration on him.

Even at the age of 39, Thiago Silva is still a vital member of the Stamford Bridge team.

The £110,000-per-week center defender (Spotrac) has participated in every Premier League game thus far this year, giving Mauricio Pochettino’s team a dependable presence at the back.

But how much longer can the experienced Brazilian perform at this level?

Benoit Badiashile, a 22-year-old center-back for Chelsea, is a gifted young player. It comes as no surprise to hear him disclose that he frequently seeks guidance from Silva.

He has called it a “honor” to regularly train and work with the illustrious defender.

Badiashile stated to Sky Sports in regards to Silva, “I ask him an enormous amount of questions to the point where I must get on his nerves a little!”

“It’s because he’s so brilliant and amazing for someone his age, as Axel [Disasi] mentioned. Working with someone of his caliber is such an honor; he enriches everyone around him and helps us achieve our full potential.

The Telegraph recently reported that Silva has conversations with Chelsea’s manager this year to receive tactical guidance.

Without a doubt, the South American defender at Chelsea contributes significantly both on and off the field.

Every young person at Stamford Bridge—and there are a ton of them—is given the advice to soak in Silva’s presence every day. By chance, he is still competing at the highest level in his late 30s.

Once Badiashile is totally fit again, it will be intriguing to see how he fits into this Chelsea starting lineup. Silva doesn’t appear to be leaving the starting lineup at the moment.
