Cucurella discusses his new right-back position at Chelsea.

Marc Cucurella said that lately, playing right back for Chelsea hasn’t been altogether simple.

The Spaniard has started three games in a row for the Blues, all of which have been at right-back due to Reece James’ injury and Malo Gusto’s absence.

Cucurella has mainly impressed in his new position for a player who has typically played as a left-back, but he maintains the move hasn’t been simple.

The Spaniard told the official Chelsea website, “It’s a little bit tricky.

Actually, it depends on what is done.

“The major requirements are the same; I’m just on the other side. I always do my best to support the team, and I believe that my teammates do the same for me. Therefore, we must keep doing this in order to win games.

After the international break, it is uncertain whether Cucurella will continue to play as a right-back or whether the manager will use him in a completely new position given that James is anticipated to return in the lineup against Arsenal.

Cucurella has been an absolute monster at right-back. I applaud him!
