One of Chelsea’s newest recruits was told he was superior than Kai Havertz.

Jason Cundy has stated that Cole Palmer is a stronger acquisition for the team than Kai Havertz was for Chelsea.

Palmer was Chelsea’s final summer transfer window purchase from Manchester City as Mauricio Pochettino looked to give his team extra firepower.

The former City player, who has displayed amazing potential in his first few games for the Blues, played a key role in Chelsea’s important 4-1 victory away at Burnley on Saturday. He scored a goal and provided an assist in the victory.

Although he scored some significant goals for the Blues before being sold to Arsenal this summer, former Chelsea star Havertz never quite displayed the same brilliance during his three years at Stamford Bridge, and Cundy is confident Palmer will contribute more to Chelsea than the German did.

When asked if Palmer was an improvement over Havertz by a fellow talkSPORT host, Cundy responded, “Completely!

Cole Palmer is evolving into the kind of player we hoped Havertz would be, according to what he brings to the team.

“He is the player we hoped Havertz would develop into, even though he is playing in a little different position. He appears to be a gentleman at the moment.
