Pochettino says he has already informed his players of who starts in a critical situation.

On Monday night, Armando Broja had his first appearance of the year. He scored a goal against Fulham and looked pretty great. We finally have two legitimate strikers vying for playing time up top for the first time since August.

When Mauricio Pochettino was questioned about it during today’s news conference, he immediately refuted the notion that he had any doubts about tomorrow’s pick.

“It’s already decided,” he remarked, making it clear that the players had already been informed of the team’s composition. That would be consistent with what Broja said after the game on Monday, when he claimed to have learned he was starting the day before the game.

Given that Broja is still working his way back to full health and Jackson has had a great lengthy rest owing to his suspension, we can only infer from this that it indicates Jackson is beginning. The choice is obvious.

The competition really gets going after the international break…
