The Premier League’s ‘Save of the Month’ award has a shortlist that includes Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
The Spaniard, who helped Chelsea avoid a humiliating loss during the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa back in September, is one of the six goalies who have been considered for the prize. Although Sanchez made several noteworthy stops during the game, just one of them is being considered for the prize.
Sanchez used remarkable speed to tip Nicolo Zaniolo’s shot from eight yards out over the bar, preventing it from going into the Chelsea goal. Zaniolo, who couldn’t believe he was denied, was the victim of the save.
Jordan Pickford (Everton), Guglielmo Vicario (Tottenham Hotspur), Ederson (Manchester City), David Raya (Arsenal), and Alisson (Liverpool) are all up for the honor.
After a public vote, the prize winner will be announced on Friday, October 13.
