Why did Jorginho win the Man-of-the match against Salzburg? UEFA has your answer
Tuesday’s 2-1 win for Chelsea over Salzburg was largely due to Jorginho’s outstanding performance. The official Man of the Match trophy was presented to the Italian midfielder.
Though many fans were shocked by the choice to award him the greatest player in the competition. Conor Gallagher had perhaps his best performance while wearing a Chelsea jersey and deserved to be named MOTM as well. Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz also scored big goals and were deserving of the award.
Some would even contend that Philipp Kohn of Salzburg, who made some fantastic saves, deserved to be named Man of the Match. Without him, Salzburg would have let up five or six goals.
Some Chelsea fans disagree with the decision to give Jorginho the MOTM award.
