John Terry reveals the player to take over Cesar Azpilicueta as Chelsea new captain

John Terry said of Cesar Azpilicueta, “When you’re captain it’s crucial that you are a consistent performer, week in and week out.”

“You consistently give seven or eight out of ten. He offers the group what he does.

“And once more, he serves as an example for others to follow. Although I like what he does, I believe that for me, the next step would naturally lead to Mason Mount.

“I believe Mason has the potential to continue, and if necessary, I believe he is capable of seizing control of the game.

“He appeals to the Chelsea supporters. Through and through, he is Chelsea. They are also his family. Personally, I’d really like to see Mason win.”

Despite the fact that his one-year extension began, Cesar Azpilicueta’s future is still uncertain because of how many games he has already played. Regardless, he will be a difficult skipper to replace once his contract with the team expires.

Currently, Jorginho, Thiago Silva, and Antonio Rudiger are the team’s leaders, with Mount not currently holding the position.

Reece James may also have a bad illness, but Mount is only 23 years old, so time is unquestionably on his side.
