Carney Chukwuemeka made his Chelsea debut on Saturday in a 3-0 win over Wolves under Graham Potter.
Late in the game, the 18-year-old was introduced. The midfielder opened out about what Potter had said to him before to the substitution after the game.
He instructed me to play with a grin on my face, express myself, and play the way I’ve been practicing before entering the game. Apparently, I did that. In an interview with Chelsea’s official website, Carney commented.
“It [back-to-back 3-0 victories and clean sheets] gives us a big lift.” It’s a foundation upon which to develop, so try to do something this year, try to win trophies, and just keep moving ahead as a team.
